Ryan Flores

Monday, March 28 at 3 pm Via Zoom.

Ryan Flores will give a talk about his work with ceramics, sculpture, and a recent project combining the clay medium with photography.

Ceramics play a major role in his work because of the materials' seductive qualities. The work lies in the spectrum of seduction and repulsion. In this place of duality, he hopes to create complex objects, provoking conflicting reactions through relatable subverted forms.

Ryan is a sculptor and ceramicist who currently lives and works in Brooklyn. He received a BFA in Ceramics from California State University, Long Beach, and an MFA in Sculpture + Extended Media from Virginia Commonwealth University. His most recent exhibition was with Rockefeller Center’s Art in Focus public art program in association with the Art Production Fund.
